UK King’s Daughters is a 465-bed regional referral center in Ashland, Kentucky. We are affiliated with the University of Kentucky Health system. We own 40+ primary care clinics in outlying areas of Kentucky and Ohio which refer patients from a catchment area of about 750,000 people to our main campus for testing and treatment. This year, we will complete a large construction project on campus, which will provide us with a brand-new ER and a new Imaging Department. Our Emergency Department sees nearly 70,000 patients per year. We have almost all medical specialties here at our facility, except pediatric subspecialties. About three years ago, another hospital in our community was shut down, and since that time, our facility has been experiencing tremendous growth in our patient volumes, as most all the physicians from that hospital joined our medical staff.

We currently have one Plastic Surgeon in the community, and our community has traditionally had two Plastic Surgeons. In 2023, one of our Plastic Surgeons, who had been working in the community for many years, retired. We offer a guaranteed base salary of $500,000 with wRVU productivity bonuses. We also offer student loan repayment, signing bonus, and full hospital employee benefits. Benefits include health, vision, dental, and life insurance, 401a/403b retirement plan, six weeks of vacation, a CAP retirement savings plan for physicians only, one week off for CME and a $5,000 CME allowance, paid malpractice coverage, and much more.

Ashland, KY is a town of about 25,000 people, located along the Ohio River. We have a nice, clean town with minimal traffic, a beautiful and very active performing arts theater, indoor tennis center, a large downtown park, and boutique shopping. Our Tri-State region (Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia) is renowned for safe, family-friendly communities with an excellent cost of living. We also have some of the country’s finest state parks that feature golf, skiing, boating, fishing, hunting and biking. We have four seasons – all of which are relatively mild. We’re also a short drive to metro cities in Ohio (Cincinnati and Columbus) and Kentucky (Lexington and Louisville), and we are located about 20 minutes from Huntington, WV, a town about twice the size of Ashland and the home of Marshall University. Additionally, about two hours away in West Virginia, there is excellent snow skiing and the New River Gorge National Park, which offers multiple outdoor activities such as whitewater rafting, rock climbing and hiking.
